And what happens if you bit-swap the ROM dumps before you write them (and remove a possible region protection)? |

That sounds really clever ! It should work... But... My problem (as I said in a previous post) is that the DreamWriter program doesn't work with my pc (or my friends pc after he reinstall windows). It just doesn't find the card, nomatter what I change! So I guess I'll have to wait and try the uCON64 that you're preparing... |

Thanks
I am just happy it works.
I can get a GT system a lot easier than a card.
So I am glad the PCE PRO is good and I am not doing anything wrong.
I would be willing to trade it for the GG pro system card then |

I could send you a binary build from the current source code (which includes PCE-PRO support), if you want. |

I have a US Turbo Duo and the PCE-PRO works fine. Just use the US REGION ENABLE function in Dreamwriter.
It even says so in the pce-pro details:
-Multi Region support (USA/JPN/EUR)
-NTSC/PAL console support
the only thing I cannot get to work is multiple roms at once.
one rom works perfectly (JAP and USA), more than one rom -> I get a white screen.
does anyone know what the problem is ? |

PCEpro does work in a US Turbo express But only one game can be loaded.
I am pretty sure the PCE boot is where the bug is.
If it will work why not make it multi like they did for the Japanese Boot file.
Would be nice and worth the $115.00 I paid for it.

I think you're right.
The boot loader probably has a JAP header, so it should be fixable.
Time for a new Dreamwriter release ! |

It's not a bug, per se... Probably the menu program needs to be bitswapped to work on US systems. Try finding a PCE/Turbo utility that will swap the bits in ROMs and run the menu program through the swapper. That should work. |

So far, I have seen posts from people who say the flash card works on the US Turbo Express, but does the device also work the US Turbo Grafx 16? The card comes pre-loaded with a couple of Japenese ROMS and boot loader, so I think that's why I'm getting the white screen of death.
Now, if only I could connect to the device with my computer... _________________ "It's true, I may work long hours, but at least the pay sucks!" |

Good news (for me anyway)! I managed to finally get DreamWriter to work on Windows XP. The key to getting it to work was disabling the BIOS setting "Plug and Play OS." It all works perfectly now. except for the mult-boot option, which as I understand it, other people are having difficulty with right now.
Just wanted to post the info. to the board in case other people were having similar problems. _________________ "It's true, I may work long hours, but at least the pay sucks!" |

I hope we don't scare Leo away.
But I wish we could use the new menu on the US system and Turbo express.
No fun having only one game loaded at a time |

Yeah but at least now you've got it working segabob. And let's face it, you can only play 1 game at a time anyway

Is there a way to drop back to the game menu, aside from cycling the power? The Run+Select button combo just resets the individual game; so I'm doubtful... but I can hope! |

Nope, perhaps the software could be updated so that it would? |
