How difficult would it be to to develop a pcb board that could use SDHC or CF cards to transfer SEGA CD-ROM data via cable/wiring to be read by the SEGA CDX ? Such a solution could eliminate the need to use the CD laser pickup to read/load SEGA CD games.
The pcb could be made to interface with the same pinouts that the laser pickup for the CD drive uses to send data to the SEGA CDX CPU to run the CD games.
If this can be done, we would have no more worries about CD motors and lasers needing replacement and no more scratched CDs!
