Like it's saying, you can't put in a Cartridge, it's a build in game only thing.

Also it says unless you don't have the knowledge and the skills to solder etc... you can't use it for anything else, if you do have the knowledge and skills, you can add a cartridge slot maybe to it Razz

Very Happy

Maybe Tototek can hack this thing and make a Portable MD out of it Very Happy
(Before Lik-Sang does it)

If you look @ the PCB maybe you can add a flashchip on the place of the 32mb rom and @ an usb port on it and you have the BEST LOOKING MD FLash all in one kit! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

It would be extremely easy to put in a cartridge slot and or hardwire a MD-PRO to it...

Ok he made it but not everybody has the ability to make it or to use high end laser stuff to cut the design.

And the price is also very high for that portable genesis console

Please note that this product is quite crippled, it cannot preform all of the Mega Drive's functions (I'm not sure which functions are removed) but it's definately not a perfect reimplementation of a Mega Drive, a great deal of games are apparently incompatible.

My theory is that they removed all the hardware not needed by the games it comes with. Thats why benheck made his EXODUS portable, and it was compatible only with 80% of genesis games.

Can the Mega Jet use batteries, or must it always be plugged in when you use it?

Must be plugged into a wallwart AND a display/audio device. IMO, Mega Jets were a cool fad back in 1999 when they were still nearly unheard of, really rare and expensive but now that Ling unleashed them on the world... I dunno, they still have a little coolness factor but they're just well, just a eBay novelty. I think they're definately the best starting point for your own Ben H-esque portable since they're still available new and they're cheaper than a Nomad and they come with Dragonball Z ;) (Yes, your Mega Jet isn't complete if it doesn't come with DBZ)

If you want truely a portable MD/Genesis, you'll need something with a screen... Everyone knows that Nomad's have a dispicable screen, if someone decided to upgrade their Nomad to a 21st century screen with white LEDs for lighting, it wouldn't suck nearly so much (figuratively and literally) Decent stereo speakers wouldn't hurt either.
