Hi there,
Wondered if anyone could help me with this problem im having...
I have just bought a 64Mb MD-Pro (from GBAX.com) I have 2 units a UK Megadrive II and a US Genesis II.
When I used the cart (on my US Genesis II) I got weird buzzing / intereference sounds from any game I play that is much louder than the music / sfx of any of the games. Its the type of noise that gets louder the more white there is on the screen.
I thought it might be the console so I bought a UK Megadrive II (they are pretty cheap second hand) and to my dismay the problem is still there.
Do you think its a defective cart or am I missing something else that could be the problem ?
I have tried different power supplies / RF cables / SCART leads / Different TV's .. the only conclusion I can come to is that there is some issue with the cart itself. I am using it in its raw PCB form without a cover.
Any ideas anyone, before I send it back ?
Regards

emargee :
MD PRO was tested before ship. It seem to be ok from your case. I think maybe power supply problem or Av cable problem. Please use 9V DC (over 850ma is better, with inside is GND) |

I use a MD-64 PRO in a MegaDrive 2 with the 32X plugged and I haven't any problem like this. _________________ MD32X is better than PlayStation... |

So if you mute the buzzing goes away? I think I know what you're talking about. I've had similar experiences except with my cable box, and the buzzing isn't through the speakers at all, I thought it was my TV getting tired of drawing so many white lines. |

Yes, I have had this too... a slight buzzing or 'white noise' in the backround, and even during the menu when you first turn it on.
I had it happen in both my Nomad, and Genesis.
It all depends on how many games and save files and such get flashed on the card, it's a rare or random anomaly.
To fix just, re-flash the card, maybe remove one of the games, and try again.
I have flashed many a rom on my card and I have only had this happen twice.
Hope this help ya! |
