The Pro Fighter Qs had a built in LPT port, but I think the PFX lines required the add-on LPT card. I've never seen a PFX CD-ROM drive. |

Here are all the true models:
-SPF
-SPF Q (parallel)
-SPF Q+ (parallel + built in RTS/slow motion card)
-PFX V1 (case looks like SPFQ)
-PFX V2 ("normal" looking)
-PFXT (*perhaps* multiple revisions of the same thing, just PCB/sticker revisions)
-DPF
SPFQ+ do exist and have a slightly different logo on the case.
The PFXT2 is just a PFX with upgraded BIOS and all the DPFX I have seen are identical to DPF with just a new case/sticker. DPFQ+ etc don't exist.
I'm pretty sure you have it right, PFX have DSP support, PFXT have built in Smart card support.
Note that parallel ports were not standard on SPFQ/Q+s, most don't have them. Fortunately, it's not too difficult to add one. |

There was a Super Pro Fighter Q+ without a parallel port, I know cause I've got one.

Thanks for all info!
About the DPF and DPFX. Does anyone know if the DPFX have a DSP1 inside?

DPFX is a DPF which cannot have one internally. |

The PFX will say PFX; That's certainly a SPFQ+.
BTW, the SPFQ+ doesn't have an optional built in DSP like PFX(T?)s, it requires a plugin cart so it's not a special DSP version. |

Heh, is there a copier line that has a more complicated naming convention than Pro Fighter?
Its like they looked at Capcom’s Street Fighter and decided “Heck, we can be more confusing than that!” |

So even though the case says DSP it does not have one inside (?), but only says so to show that it can play DSP games if you have an external DSP cart (?).
So, this is the normal case for the SPFQ+ with RTS/slow-motion card?
Thank you kyuusaku for sharing your expertise!!!

Yes

SPFQ+ has RTS/slow-motion built in. This is why it's SPFQ+, SPFQ doesn't have it built in |

Thanks kyuusaku!!
Regarding the the various Pro Fighter X Turbo models with Smart Card support:
Can it be that the "Pro Fighter X Turbo 3 in 1" is just a relabeled "Pro Fighter X Turbo 2", and that CCL did this when the Smart Cards went from being GB-only to being GB/GG.
If this is correct "3 in 1" might mean SFC, GB and GG - while 2 meant SFC and GB. Am I correct assuming this?

AFAIK, all PFXT hardware is the same, including PFXT2. The only difference is the BIOS and label.

I'm not sure but that sounds probable, the answer might be on the box. |

Yes that one has an internal DSP chip, or at least it should have as the bios displays INTERNAL DSP: ON/OFF |

Thank you for helping out Thall! It's a jungle. Do you have one of these in your collection?
