Name the games you can't get to save on your MDpro.

I have had both shining Force games saving before.
Shining Force 2 is a bitch to get working.
It seems It's where you put it in memory.
This is what I had them both saving on.
Format the card using the Diag program.
then
SF on CS1
Shiningg Force 2 on CS2
That's a 50 50 shot |

phantasy star 3 will not save for me...
as far as i understand i just have to enable saver then any 1 of the 4 32k banks? will running with game genie codes mess with the save?
its odd the md-pro will not save.
but my mgd2 genesis flashcart will work and save the game with no problems. |

Not sure, but I was able to get PSIV to save easily in the S0 slot. I have the original PSIII cart, so I never tried it, since it still works amazingly. _________________ 8 bit is groovy. 16 bit rules forever too. Don't argue. |

Monster World IV and NBA Jam (and a handful of other games) use EEPROM for saves and the MD-Pro doesn't have save EEPROM emulation so it simply cannot fully emulate those game boards. In order to save, those EEPROM games must be hacked to use the "standard" SRAM mapping. I don't think anyone has taken on that challenge.
The big issue with MD saves is that there wasn't an enforced standard unlike most other consoles. This is especially the case with later/larger games such as Phantasy Star IV; those games may need special treatment by MD-Pro because their save method is unique. If MD-Pro's utility does not detect your ROM as Phantasy Star IV, it may not use the proper method so just in case, be sure to use a good dump! |

an old genesis hacker TSD had written a patch that partially works but i believe my sram is either dead or broken. my md-pro is one of the first runs that isn't 32x compatible and seems to be having issues with every single game i try to save with. i vaguely remember a few years back toto giving me an ips patch for monster world that did in fact work but that was a long time ago.
strange enough the diagnostic tool says everything is fine yet any save i make vanishes within a few hours. |

both monster world 3 and 4 save fine for me regardless of game or save position. as does shining force 2 (and 1). the saver only seems to work for multiboots. but, i was having a really hard time getting rockman wily wars to work. i think the rom dump is deciding factor. i used the (u)[!] dumps of the shining force games and mw 3, the (j)[!] dump of mw 4 (both unpatched and patched to english) and the (j) [a1][!] of rockman. phantasy star 2 (u)[!] works too, both stock and patched with the retranslation. |

I can get Monster World IV to save too, which is pretty strange since it has an EEPROM battery and not SRAM. I can't save with King Colossus though. |

King Colossus works, but not Langrisser II. It resets right before the first conversation. Does it work for anyone? |

If i'm not wrong, langrisser2 don't have a good patch (or at least, some years ago, the patch was making the game reseting on real hardware). |
