I just got a parallel adapter today to use with my gdsf7.. I was wondering if I have to have the GDSF7 plugged into a power supply to transfer games via the parallel.

The GDSF7 requires power to do anything. Also, to do any parallel transfer, the SNES system must be powered on too.
