Hi,
recently I got a new Laptop, 'cause my old one completely broke up after three years of constant use. Unfortunately the new one doesn't have a parallel port anymore, so all my backup units instantly turned into virtually useless pieces of tech-garbage, especially the handheld copiers which don't have 3.5" floppy drives. So, is there some kind of USB -> Parallel Port adapter that works with backup units? All adapters I've found until now are said to be working only with parallel port printers, but not with scanners or Zip drives, so I assume they won't be of any use for backup units either.
Any help?

[UPDATE]
On nesdev.parodius.com people were talking about a USB to ISA device which could be used to host a parallel port ISA card... well, this would be nice if it worked, but does anyone know where to get such a device without having to pay with your right arm? A Shop called "ARS Technologies" sells them, but they want 129 USD for the device and that's a little bit to much IMHO, considering the fact that it isn't clear that this will even work (just think about how timing dependend most of the old copiers are...). |
