Great news, Tomy!
The site says:
Cart + box + utility disc
Cart + box + utility disc* + megacart adaptator
Cart + box + utility disc* + megacart adaptator
What is the "box?"
Also, what is the megacart adaptator?

Box mean the big plastic box that hold cartridge.
If you have Megacart, then you can play all region segacd game.
You no need multi bios for your segacd now.
You can select Europe/USA/JAPAN bios when startup Megacart.
It is 32M and it is a flash cart too. It use a small area to store megacart bios.
So, it still can play 1M to 24M game. And can have multi game support.
(it don't come with sram support)
And it is stand alone product. When boot up a utility disc, you can select game to flash.
Then it load game from segacd and flash it to the cart. No need pc to flash game. |

Very nice product. What about a future version with 64M+? It could be nice having all the advantages of mdpro64+ with the ones of this device too.
Does there will be an USB edition of this device? Parallel ports on new computers are becoming unusable or non-existent. |

Yeah, of course, but you know, usb is really different/harder and the actual megacart/mdpro hardware isn't enough strong to handle both at once... So don't wait for a soon update of the hardware, sorry |

This is a fantastic product!
Got a front-loading US Sega CD system. Mine actually read CD-Rs without any problems. Flashing ROMs from disc is easy, and I find the speed very acceptable. Selecting Sega CD BIOS by pressing A (JPN), B (US) og C (EUR) during boot is so simple. 100% recommended!

Thank you for your comment.
Some peoples had problem to burn their own utility discs (with own roms) because they did not use Nero... If you used other tools, don't hesitate to tell us
Flashing speed has been clocked at 2MB (16MEG) per minute.
Using megacart adaptater is just twice faster if i'm not wrong.
For comparaison, my homemade cartridge flasher did that in 15 minutes
I'll add the Usa Segacd1 in compatible list, i suppose your Genesis was model1 too
See ya and enjoy |

Wow, Megacart got reviewed by sega16
Quote: | With all the accessories and peripherals available for the Genesis, you'd think you'd seen it all. Not true, my friend! The good people at Tototek have recently released the latest generation of their famous carts, and the new Mega Cart goes far beyond just playing flashed ROMs. Everything from saving CD game saves to playing imports can all be done with one handy cartridge. Contributer Zebbe has written an excellent review of this new accessory, so read our latest Sega Gear article and see why you need this. |
