I just got my 32MB flash card for the MegaDrive today, excellent fast shipping to the US, thanks!

I've been fighting with the thing all day though. It won't be recognized by my computer at all. I made sure that my parallel port settings are set to EPP, and that my USB output is exactly 5V. I'm 99% sure that the card is getting powered, and I've tried all 6 versions of the software. I'm running XP, and I can't get the UCON64 software to run on this machine.

I'll try my 256Mhz machine running Win98 next and see if that one will do it, but maybe I have the wrong parallel cable?

This is what I'm using, it's a male-male 25pin cable.

I've read over this board and found a few tips, but man, nothing is working here, and it's kinda frustrating.

If anyone has any other cable suggestions or tips, it would be much appreciated! Thanks - Jeremy

This cable has crossed "null-modem" wiring design.

I think 'crossed' in this case means that each pin doesn't necessarily connect to the same pin on the other end. (Since it's for transferring data between 2 PCs, an input pin on one end connects to an output pin on the other).

I can't say for sure, but I second your suspicion about the cable.

Please read the answer to question 4 of the FAQ. You need an I/O helper. I suggest to use io.dll.

Memblers is right, that cable is not the right cable to use with the MD-PRO (or any other copier I know of). You should use a "straight-through" cable. That means that each pin on one connector is connected to the identical pin on the other connector.
