Hello
I start to program on snes, in assembler , and I have a question about mapping memory.
I noticed lowRom is use in mode 20, and HiRom in mode 21 (in "Sne dev manual").
I would like to know, how to use mode 25 for have a memory of 63Mb?
And what is Rom type?
Thanks in advance

What do you mean about the ROM type?
In software you just use C0-FF:0000-FFFF & 00-7D:8000-FFFF. Where in the ROM this gets mapped depends on the game cartridge.
In hardware, you can follow this guide: http://snesdev.romhack.de/tales_diagram.png |

I still don't understand. Do you mean how to wire the ROM to the SNES connector? For HiROM (and Mode 25 I believe) just connect SNES A0-A22 to ROM A0-A22, for LoROM connect SNES A0-14 to ROM A0-14 directly, but connect SNES A16-22 to ROM A15-21.
Yes, the flash cards ROM is a 64M flashROM, there are different models by different manufacturers though. If you want to write to it, you'll have to look at the datasheet. |
