We really need a N64 back up since the Bung ones are getting harder and harder to get, so what I was thinking was something like the Z64, its a great unit it uses a Zip drive and you store the roms in zip disks, but with some work you can change the iomega zipdrive with a HDD which is even a better ideia, what I was thinking was a something like the Mr.Backup Z64, the unit would be sold without anything and all you´ll had to add would be a Hard Drive I don´t know how hard it is compared with the more standart ideia of Flash Ram cards.

Forgot to log in -- With the recent release of the portable N64 in Asia a backup unit could bring some problems but then again that didn´t keep people from making GBA flash carts Wink

In near time there'll be a 64 flashcart. Nobody wants to make the first step out of fear of lawsuit.

Why would a lawsuit stop anyone from making an n64 flash card?

N64 is long dead and I mean look at all the GBA unit sold. GBA is current market and sure people prolly get threatend by nintendo but it hasnt stopped anyone.

I mean shit people make SNES flash cards.

I was around when nintendo went after bung but it sure didnt stop anyone then.

It didn't stop anyone? Why does Bung change it's name for every console then? Why did UFO, Venus, Gamars, FFE and everyone else drop out of the race? Why doesn't Lik-Sang sell copiers anymore? Why is there only 1 produced SNES flash card then? Nintendo sues, people lose their businesses, not fun.

Nintendo is the worst with console piracy. They've been actively attacking sellers and distributors long before N64, I remember when I orded a Professor SF I the company I had ordered from was shut down the month afterwards. (They were advertising in GamePro magazine)

Do you not remember when Nintendo went after rom sites?
Roms only exist because of copiers...emulators came second.

I think he's refering to that one from Neoflash, as that's the only other commercial N64 flash cart I'm aware of.
They project hasn't been declared dead, but there haven't been any news or comments in a loooong time, and knowing Neoflash's ways, I would say it's as good as dead.

If you look around on the net, you will eventually find a Z64, Doctor V64, V64jr, or CD64. I have owned all of them and I bought them all online. They are not that rare. One method is when one comes up for sale on eBay contact the seller immediately before it gets canceled. Sellers will usually work with you outside ebay. Of course just make sure they have good feedback.

I would agree. It's not terribly hard to get an N64 copier. The system was never that popular to begin with (In the grand scale of things) so I've seen pleanty of people get rid of them in my time.

The only ones i still have are the V64jr 512M and a CD64. They both have their drawbacks. I would like a or 1 or 2 gig N64 flash cart that could hold multiple files. That would be nice.

is it that difficult and expensive to produce N64 Flash Cards ? I mean would be cool if you had a SD Card slot or something innit to expand the storage... then a USB Interface to connect the cartridge to the pc
