This happened to me too, when the SuperFlasher couldn't regonize my SuperFlash cart. Apparently it is very picky about your physical parallel port. It wouldn't work on a laptop's parallel port, but it worked fine on a regular desktop PC's parallel port.

So my question for you is:
1. Has it ever worked before?
2. Your Super Flash cart should come with games on it. Does the SuperFlasher app list the games that are already on your cart?

If not, then that means that it is not recognizing your cart. This might be because:
1. You don't have your SuperFlasher hardware switched on.
2. Your SuperFlasher hardware is not getting the correct power through the USB cable.
3. Your parallel port is not set in EPP mode (check your BIOS settings).
4. You are not running the SuperFlasher app as administrator.

Once the SuperFlasher app can actually see your SuperFlash cart, clicking on the "add game" button will open up a file browse dialog window.

A suggestion for Tomy: the SuperFlasher software should display the status of the SuperFlasher hardware. This way it is obvious whether or not the software recognizes the cart.

1. Yes, it had worked before.
2. Yes, I can see the games on my SFC

I tried it on my laptop and it seem'd to work ....
So maybe something is messed up from when i install some new software.

YES! There needs to be some feedback on whether or not the Super Flash hardware is recognized as connected by the software. I guess there is if you know how the software works but of course it doesn't come with a manual. Once you get it working you have an idea of how it should work and what's going on but until then you could have trouble.

I consider myself quite knowledgeable in hardware matters and I spent a couple of hours trying to get the Super Flash programmer to work. The cart worked fine as evidenced by plugging it into a SNES, but the programmer wouldn't recognize any ROMs put into the ROMs directory. I could say dump cart and it would dump 64 Mbit. I could backup cart sram, I thought which should be on the Super Flash. But, it turns out, I unplugged my cables to the Super Flash and I'm able to do the exact same operations in the software -- with no hardware connected. Now it becomes clear to me the software cannot talk to the hardware. After trying every standard trick in the book and not getting it to work I had to try last resort, shouldn't have to do this and it probably won't work kind of things. I got it working by slightly flexing the programmer board while pressing on the IC chips. This is not good. It means there was a bad connection on the PCB, probably due to poor solder joints, and it may give me trouble in the future. I should probably look closely at all the solder joints on the pcb but I'll leave that for another day.

Hi, im having the same problem. The software does not recognize my cart. I have a male/female cable with an male/male adaptor, the port set to PPE, an usb cable for power. The programmer switch set to on. The flashcart facing away from the cables. Please help me, i got my cart today, i've tested it and it works with the games that are preloaded on it(ToP and SMC), and it looks allright. But I must say. There realy should be some simple instructions, either with the flasher or some help/documentation with the software. Im going to try it on another comp. now but i doubt that it will work. What am I doing wrong?

I've fixed it now. Seems like my pcable was broken somehow, so I went out and got a new one. Just flashed Seiken Densetsu 3 e, works great. I cant wait to test my SuperMarioWorld hacks, the Lunar Magic SMW editor is great!

I waited since Seiken Densetsu 3 was first released in Japan, until a few months ago when I got the SuperFlash, to play Seiken Densetsu 3 (English). I didn't want to play it under emulation. I wanted a real cart on a real SNES, and the SuperFlash gave me that. The SuperFlash was worth it just for Seiken Densetsu 3, but after beating the game I backed up my save game and I have burned some other games.

I plan on beating every SNES game ever made. May take a lifetime though.
