I need to find a passthrough boot cartridge to make my V64 work, but I was told that I could make one by way of a cartridge modification. Is there a tutorial on how to do this anywhere?

Someone here should know. I'm guessing this is just related to the CIC, in which case I would guess if no one comes up with information, if you were to remove the Mask ROM from a cartridge it might work. Not sure about how you would save the game though.

You can probably look at the cart pinout and kill the voltage to the ROM.

Removing the mask rom works just fine. I have a few donor carts (of a few different save/CIC types) that I use for my V64. All save functionality works fine
