I have a problem with my Super Wildcard DX2. When I power off the SNES and on again, the game stored in the Wildcard's internal RAM is gone.

I use a 9V DC 1 Amp center negative psu, which works fine with every other copier that I have. However the Wildcard doesn't seem to get any power from it because the psu doesn't get warm as usual.

Has anyone an idea what could be wrong? Probably a cold soldered connection or a broken regulator?

What do you mean game? SWC doesn't retain the loaded ROM when powered off. Save Game RAM (where your game progress is stored in a game like Zelda) may be retained either by a battery or by the power supply, I'm not sure. I think it's an old school battery (NiCad?).

Game Doctor SF is the only copier that retains games loaded into memory so you can turn it off and come back later and play right away without any reloading.

yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Well I thought every copier does retain the game after power off. I also have a Supercom Partner and a SuperUfo Pro Drive. Both retain the ROM when powered off.

MottZilla is correct, not all copiers store the games after the copier is powered off.

I know the SWC DX does NOT retain rom after power off.

Here are the copiers I know of with "uninterrupted DRAM data retention":
- All the Game Doctors including the MGD2 (need confirmation on GDSF1 and MGD1)
- Supercom Partners & Hi-Speed derived units
- PFX2 and up

I believe this option was only available on versions 7 and 8 of the Super UFO

Never heard of it on any FFE device.

ok, thank you.

Anyway my SWCDX2 acts a bit weird. The loading of ROMs does not work occasionally. The screen stays black after I loaded a ROM or the game crashes at the title screen. But when I try it a few hours later it's working again. It's so strange because all self tests are running successfully. The on-board battery is fine as well.

Next, the screen flickers when the Disk Dual is connected. I heard that this problem doesn't occur when you use a psu for the Wildcard. But that doesn't work for me.

I think my unit has some kind of power issue. That's the reason why I asked about the psu and the lost game after power off originally.

On board battery has absolutely nothing to do with playing games, it only affects saving games. If you think your regulator may be shot, take a meter to the output and look for 5v. If you get nothing, it's shot.
