What do you mean with no soldering skills? You have to solder to the PCB still. Building your own board isn't even needed. Just run wires to everything as the plans tell you and it will work. It may not look pretty but that doesn't really matter if you put it into an enclosure.

Coffee, the GDSF copiers do NOT support IDE drives. The power connector for the MKE CDROM is the same as modern day CDROM drives. The data cable is the same type of cable too I believe, however the pinout is not the same and you should not use a MKE or IDE drive in the opposite system.

Also, the FFE guy you have to email him asking to buy a SWCDX2 or DiskDual, they aren't advertised on their site anymore.

Anyway, building the interface isn't hard, it's just soldering a bunch of components together, none of which are small, fragile, or expensive. That's why that 50$ for that PCB is a huge rip off.

All makes sense, I'll start getting parts together for the build. May as well not waste what I already have. I might contact the FFE guy to see if he has any Z64 copiers. I read somewhere some guy named The Dumper has schematics for the cd7... Must be floating around somewhere.

Thanks

Why would FFE have any Z64 copiers?

FFE made the SWC DX2, that's why they still have leftovers.

Game Doctor III is not compatible with the CD7. I wish it was though.

btw, do you know if the CD7 is compatible with the Game Doctor SF6?

Gamedoctorhk.com sells a compatible PCB kit for making your own CD7 clone, but you still need a case, and MKE drive (I got my MKE drive from ebay for $25).

you can buy MKE drives for nearly nothing if you are a bit patient. I've got mine for 5 Euro incl shipping. I even watched Ebay auctions with a starting bid of 1 Euro which ended without a bid.

You shouldn't post your email address like that on an open forum. You should change it so it's broken up like putting vinceapp at gmail dot com. I'm sure there are spiderbots that search the net for email addresses to send spam.

As I mentioned in my message to you I don't have the files handy anymore. I believe I have them somewhere but no idea where.
