The most popular place back in the days was the Golden Shopping Centre in Sham Shui Po. Sham Shui Po was actually the mecca of anything gray market. Nowadays you will hardly find anything in shopping malls, or mostly overpriced stuff.

You'll have more chance going there on weekends at the flea market.

you should also visit the 188 shopping center:

I was there in the year 2010. A store had hundreds of pirate famicom disks, some old Famicom copiers and obscure adapters. Unfortunately I haven't bought anything because back in the day I wasn't interested in Famicom stuff Crying or Very sad

So, i went to Golden Computer and i haven't found interesting things,
went to Oriental 188 in Wan Chai and found a shop with something inside.
The best was Toyzone. There was an angle with some consoles and videogames and a bargain box. There was too a retrovideogame angles, but i think is managed by someone else and you need to call before.
Anyway i found at the end some action replay carts for ps1 and a super famicom + double pro fighter q for 200 hkd. The seller told me that was junk, the pro fighter had obviously the battery leaked, and some traces near the disc controller that needs to be patched. Now is working with his original drive.

Is the 16mbit, probably i will upgrade to 32 and will install a parallel port, that was missing.

i went to Ho King in Mong Kok, in the first shop at the entry there was a display window with a game doctor sf7 - that i have - and a copier without the upper part of the plastic. In Toyzone there was, in the retrogame zone not managed by toyzone directly, a mgd2 boxed. I haven't found what i was searching for. A pc engine adapter for mgd2, anyone told me... is toooooo old!

ook thank you for the pics, philjay, so you're telling me there's not much out there in retrogaming stores about backup devices... for megadrive was there anything about that?

This is an early Pro Fighter, not a Double Pro Fighter. I'm not even sure this model without RTS is upgradeable without some patching. And if the parallel port is not installed, it's most probably missing the 2 ICs for transfer

Ciao Mystic,
yes for the parallel is difficult because is missing a Peel and i think the code is not reversed and a 74ls245p but this is easy to source.
For the ram, i will try to put in the free slot 4 more ram that i have at home, and will see what happens.

I can confirm that the update with 32m it's working. Tested with a cart of 32m (ff special) loaded in ram and it's working.

Now i'll put a cr2032 instead of the battery, cutting the +5v and a diode.
