Alma CD-X VR-CD for sega genesis - anyone know where to get?

It's called an Alma CD-X VR-CD and plugs into a Sega Genesis. This unit attatches to an external CD-ROM drive and I think it lets you load games via CD.

I have scoured google but no other info is availible on this unit. Anyone know about it or where to get it?

Just from looking at it, it plugs into the cart slot and emulates a ROM which is loaded from CD. Clearly, it's just a processor, some ram, and a CDROM. The data is read from the CD and placed in RAM which is then made accessible as a CART to the Genesis. There's a real dearth of info on it.

Looks like a lot of trouble compared to just getting a flash cart.

It came out in the late 90s, few were made.. Gamechoice had them years ago pretty cheap, now nobody does of course.
