Does anyone know how to remove the "screws" from an NTSC cart? It looks like you need some kind of weird allan key. Anyone succeed in doing this? |

MCM Electronics sells the bit to remove them (I think they still do). It is known as a type of security bit. The alternative is to melt the end of a bic Pen and press it over the screw until it dries. It should work for a few screws before you have to make a new one.

Or if you can't find them anywhere else, you can usually find them on eBay. They tend tobe a bit more expensive on there though.

If you look on ebay, search for 'gamebit'. There's 2 sizes, 3.8MM and 4.5MM.
I have both, but I can't recall off-hand which one works for SNES carts (mine are all buried in junk right now, heheh). I think it was the 4.5MM one. |

the way i did it was: take the ink part out of a plain old ball point pen, heat up the clear plastic tip with a lighter for a few secs, then push it onto the screw on the cart. it makes the perfect makeshift SNES screwdriver thing... worked perfect for me, and doesnt ruin the cart. |
