how about a flash system with CompactFlash card or SD-cars?
that would really be a big deal! |

I think thats not possible, because the conventional flash media (compactflash, SD memory) isnt as fast as memory chips in video game systems..... _________________ MSG ME IF YOURE SELLING GENESIS GAMES! |

I agree, but using it as temporary memory and later writing the selected rom(s) to the real media could be interesting, then can act as a mass storage device and being more idependant so less using the computer and not need of writing apps... |

Well perhaps an onboard menu could move any given rom to a real ram chip on the cart. Then, the device wouldn't be dependant on the flash memory.
Is this what you were saying, Timofonic?
Some cartridges work with removable media: The Cuttle Cart.

My Super Wild Card DX2 uses compact flash cards. It simply copies the ROM data from the flash card into DRAM, which is fast enough. |
